EDIT* well it "runs". It crashes a lot and I cannot seem to get on any server. Since there is no menu for anything the following is a good resource for anyone messing with it.

I have not figured out if I can run my own server yet.. I THINK you may need a UE4 subscription to do it.

I can't wait to try this :)

At the moment, the Linux version is slightly behind, however fully playable... after speaking with the developers (who make themselves fully available via discord), it appears the Linux community is simply not large enough yet to make Linux oriented development a focus.
Things to note:
- performance drops
- lots of broken textures
- some UI problems (personally my mouse cursor isn't always where its supposed to be on the screen)
- no launcher
Remember that the source code for UT4 is fully available to play with, and encouraged, to the point that I was told if coders were to develop fixes for other Operating Systems, there was a good chance those fixes would be recognized and implemented.

Unfortunately, their team is quite small (last time I asked for details, I was informed that there was one Linux dev, who's job was split between UT4 and other projects), which doesn't allow them to put as much work into other operating systems.
One of the reasons I posted here was to try and get more Linux users over, in an attempt to increase our priority, and to hopefully bring this game to the attention of someone who would be interested in trying to crack some of the current issues themselves.
As I said the game is fully playable right now, even the many broken textures are only a slight setback... however if you do not enjoy an unfinished product then this is not (yet) the game for you.
