Idle game on proton

Hello,

I have discovered while playing Leaf Blower Revolution that the game does not progress if the game is launched but the window is not active.
While it is very good default behaviour, it does defeat the purpose of an idle game. Do you know if I can disable it with a proton flag so that the game will still run while I'm browsing the web with my computer.

Best Regards
Amatai

It was a free game so I decided to give it a try, but I can't reproduce the problem. It seems to keep running and progress is being made (% keeps ticking up) when running unfocused.

Are you sure this isn't a window manager problem?

It may be, I'm using Gnome on Wayland, It can be one of Wayland news feature.
The suspend is not on loosing focus through but on the windows being not shown on the screen. The game is still running if I'm on the meta-desktop or if it is windowed on a part of the screen. I should try on different desktop tonight to see if it's proton or the DE that is causing this behaviour.

The only thing I can think of to test in Proton is to activate the "Emulate a virtual desktop" feature (through winecfg).

This is Wayland behaviour, I tested on XFCE (wayland), Gnome (Wayland) and Gnome (Xorg).
I suspect that the game is dependent on graphics for gameplay and wayland may not draw windows that are not displayed.

The issue is now solved on Gnome 45. Wayland is moving so fast.
